Retell connects to existing telephony over SIP trunking. Point it at Vobiz and your agents run outbound campaigns and answer inbound calls on numbers you own in India and 130+ countries. Both directions are dashboard work.
You can connect a Retell agent to a Vobiz number using Retell's SIP trunking option, which Retell supports for bringing any existing telephony system to its agents. Outbound and inbound are configured as two separate trunks, one set up in the Retell dashboard and one in the Vobiz Console, both without code.
Retell is built as a contact centre you operate yourself: flows on a canvas, batch campaigns, live takeover, QA across every call. What it deliberately does not do is own your telephony. It expects you to bring a carrier, and it supports SIP trunking so you can.
Vobiz is that carrier. The same agents and the same campaigns, on number inventory and routing across 130 countries.
No webhooks, no answer URL, no IP list to maintain. Inbound is trunk-based routing and nothing more.
140-series, 1600-series, mobile and toll-free Indian numbers, issued under India's telecom rules, used in Retell instead of buying a number from Retell.
Retell's SIP trunking option takes your number, your Vobiz SIP domain as the termination URI, and your trunk username and password. Five fields and a Save.
Point a Vobiz inbound trunk at Retell's SIP address, link your number, and pick the answering agent. There is no gateway IP list to keep in sync.
Retell sets the inbound call agent and the outbound call agent separately on the same number, so one line can answer as a receptionist and dial out as a collections agent.
Upload a recipient CSV, set your Vobiz number as the from number, send now or schedule. Retell's dialler runs the campaign; Vobiz carries every call in it.
Retell keeps transcripts, call logs and post-call analysis for what was said. Vobiz writes a call detail record with 43 fields, including MOS, jitter and packet loss, for how it was carried.
Outbound authenticates from Retell into Vobiz. Inbound points from Vobiz at Retell. Same number on both, but two separate trunks.
Three things that trip people up. The SIP host goes in as a bare hostname, with no sip: prefix and no trailing slash; the console warns that it wants a host and port, and saving anyway is correct because Vobiz defaults to port 5060. A number linked only to the outbound trunk will not receive calls — it has to be linked to the inbound trunk too. And the outbound agent does not cover inbound, so if calls connect but nobody answers, check the inbound call agent is set.
Every field, every screenshot, the troubleshooting list and a video walkthrough are in the Vobiz docs.
Read the integration guideNot today. Vobiz is not one of Retell's built-in telephony providers. You connect the two through Retell's SIP trunking option, which Retell supports for bringing any existing phone system to its agents, and it carries both inbound and outbound calls.
Yes, over a Vobiz SIP trunk. Vobiz issues Indian 140-series, 1600-series, mobile and toll-free numbers, and you configure them in Retell as SIP trunk numbers rather than buying a number inside Retell.
No. Both directions are configured in dashboards. A separate API guide covers triggering outbound calls programmatically, for teams building campaigns into their own application, but the setup itself does not require it.
Because the two directions point opposite ways. Outbound is Retell authenticating into a Vobiz trunk with a username and password. Inbound is a Vobiz trunk sending calls out to Retell's SIP address. Your number links to both.
Yes. Retell exposes the inbound call agent and the outbound call agent as separate settings on the same number, so a single line can answer with one agent and dial out with another.
No. Inbound is pure trunk-based routing. No Vobiz application and no answer webhook are involved, which means there is no server of yours in the call path to keep running.
Create a Vobiz account, add a trunk and a number, and point your existing Retell agent at it. Inbound is a second trunk once you have heard the first call work.
Retell AI is a voice AI platform for building and running AI phone agents. Vobiz is not affiliated with Retell AI; this integration uses Retell's public SIP trunking support.
Connect 3CX PBX to Vobiz SIP trunking for inbound and outbound calling across 130+ countries - configure a generic SIP trunk in minutes.
Connect an Agora Conversational AI agent to Vobiz SIP trunking - add a Vobiz number to Agora for outbound campaigns and route inbound calls to your agent, including India and 130+ countries.
Bolna ships Vobiz as a built-in telephony provider. Paste two credentials into the Providers screen and your agents place and answer calls on numbers in 130+ countries, reaching 190, with audio streaming rather than a SIP trunk.
