ClickUp is a work management platform, and Vobiz connects to it as a softphone that logs calls into it: agents dial in the browser and each completed call becomes a ClickUp task carrying the full call record and a playback link. It runs as a page beside ClickUp and writes through the ClickUp API, rather than installing as an app inside it.
Be clear on the shape of this one. It is a softphone you open beside ClickUp rather than a panel inside it — there is no App Directory listing, no OAuth app and nothing embedded in the ClickUp interface. It writes through the ClickUp API using a personal token, which carries that user's access to every space they can see, so it is worth issuing from an account scoped for the purpose. You also run the backend yourself, on a public HTTPS address, and you will need the ClickUp list that receives the call tasks.
Why this pairing
Why run ClickUp calling on Vobiz
In a CRM, a logged call is a record — something you read later if someone goes looking. In ClickUp, everything is a task, and a task is something that happens: it can be assigned, commented on, given a status, pulled into a dashboard, or picked up by an automation the moment it appears.
So a call that lands in ClickUp as a task is not a filing exercise. It is a work item carrying the full call record — direction, numbers, duration, how the call ended and a playback link — that your existing automations and views can act on like anything else in the workspace. Vobiz supplies the numbers and carries the calls behind it.

What you get
What Vobiz adds to ClickUp
Calls that arrive as work rather than as log entries.
01
Every call becomes a task you can act on
One task per completed call, in the list you nominate, tagged by direction. Once it exists it behaves like any other task — assignable, commentable, visible in a dashboard, and available to whatever automations you already run.
02
The whole call record, in the task
Not just that a call happened. The description carries the call identifier, direction, both numbers, the agent, the duration, how the call ended, its status and the timestamp — with a playback link when the call was recorded.
03
The caller is matched before you answer
An inbound number is checked against existing ClickUp tasks, so the panel shows the task this call belongs to while it is still ringing, or tells you a new one will be created when it ends.
04
Calls made elsewhere can still land in ClickUp
A backfill command pulls recent call records and syncs them in, so calls that did not go through the softphone are not simply missing from the workspace. No other integration in this set can reconcile after the fact.
05
Numbers in 130+ countries
Local, mobile and toll-free inventory across 130+ countries, including regulated formats where a market demands them — India's 140-series and 1600-series among them. Any number on the account can be the caller ID.
06
Recording links that expire, on purpose
A task in ClickUp is readable by everyone in the space, and it stays readable indefinitely. So playback links are signed and short-lived rather than permanent: a task opened much later shows an expired link, and the recording is re-opened from the softphone instead. That is the trade, and it is the right way round.
How it works
How to connect ClickUp to Vobiz
One developer, once. After that it is a page the team keeps open.
01
Prove the Vobiz account first
Place a call from the Vobiz browser demo before anything else. If that does not work, nothing downstream will, and you will spend a day debugging the wrong layer.
02
Provision Vobiz
One command creates the application and the SIP endpoint the softphone registers as. There is a manual path in the guide if you would rather see each step.
03
Run the backend and expose it
Fill in the environment file with your Vobiz credentials, your ClickUp token and the list that receives call tasks, then start the backend and a tunnel. Verify the answer URL returns the expected instruction before opening the softphone.
04
Sign in and call
Open the softphone, sign in with your Vobiz API credentials or a SIP endpoint directly, allow the microphone, and wait for the status to read ready. Dial, and the task appears when you hang up.
The full setup, the call architecture, the task shape, the backfill command and a troubleshooting table are in the Vobiz docs.
No. It is a softphone page you open beside ClickUp, which writes into your workspace through the ClickUp API. There is no OAuth app, nothing embedded in the ClickUp interface and no directory listing. If an installable ClickUp app is what you need, this is not that yet.
One task per completed call, in the list you choose. The title names the direction and the customer number, it is tagged by direction, and the description carries the full call record — identifier, numbers, agent, duration, how the call ended, status and timestamp — plus a playback link when the call was recorded.
Yes. A backfill command pulls recent call records from your Vobiz account and creates the matching tasks, so calls placed elsewhere can still be reconciled into the workspace rather than being lost to it.
Because they are meant to. A ClickUp task is readable by everyone in the space, forever, and a permanent link to call audio sitting in it is a liability rather than a convenience. The links are signed and short-lived; re-open the recording from the softphone when you need it again.
It is a ClickUp personal token, which carries the full access of whoever issues it — every space that user can see. It needs to write to the list receiving call tasks, so the sensible approach is an account scoped to that and nothing else.
You can provision numbers in 130+ countries — local, mobile and toll-free, including regulated formats where a market requires them, such as India's 140-series and 1600-series. The numbers stay in your own Vobiz account.
