Dograh ships Vobiz as a built-in telephony provider. Paste your Auth ID and Auth Token into Dograh — running on your own servers or on their managed cloud — and your agents place and answer calls on real numbers in 130+ countries, reaching 190. No trunk to build, no code to write.
Dograh runs two ways, and Vobiz works with both. On their managed cloud you sign in and configure telephony straight away. If you self-host, you bring the stack up with Docker and your instance needs to be reachable from the public internet, because Vobiz calls back into it for call control and audio — Dograh opens a Cloudflare quick tunnel automatically for local development, and production wants a real domain over HTTPS. Either way, Vobiz is already in the provider list.
Dograh is open source under BSD 2-Clause, and every box in the pipeline is yours to swap — speech-to-text, the model, text-to-speech, or a single speech-to-speech model in place of the whole cascade. Run it on their cloud if you want the speed, or on your own servers and inside your VPC when prompts, transcripts and recordings have to stay behind your boundary.
What an open stack cannot do is issue a phone number. Vobiz supplies that layer — inventory in 130+ countries, outbound reach to 190, and routing that satisfies the rules of the markets you are calling into — and Dograh already knows how to talk to it.
Vobiz is already in Dograh's telephony list. Selecting it and entering two credentials is the whole connection.
Open Telephony, choose Configure Telephony, and select Vobiz. Enter your Auth ID and Auth Token, list the numbers you will call from, and save it as the default outbound config. There is no SIP trunk to build and no IP list to maintain.
Local, mobile and toll-free inventory across 130+ countries, with outbound reach to 190, including regulated formats where a market demands them — India's 140-series and 1600-series among them. Your agents dial from numbers you own rather than numbers rented inside a platform.
Vobiz bridges the call to a bidirectional WebSocket into your Dograh instance. Caller audio arrives at your pipeline and your agent's audio goes back out on the same connection, so the models doing the talking are the ones you chose.
Leave the Application ID blank and Dograh creates one in your Vobiz account and stores it. Attach a workflow to a number and Dograh updates that application's answer URL, so inbound routing is configured from the Dograh side.
The same integration works on Dograh's managed cloud and on a deployment inside your own VPC or on-prem, including air-gapped. Self-host and your prompts, transcripts, recordings and model inference stay inside your perimeter; Vobiz carries the call, as any carrier must, and holds no recording unless you switch it on.
Dograh holds the workflow run, the transcript and whatever your observability stack captures. Vobiz writes a call detail record with 43 fields, including MOS, jitter, packet loss and hangup attribution, for how the call was carried.
The Vobiz half is one screen. How much sits in front of it depends on whether you self-host.
Three things that trip people up. Self-hosting, your instance has to be publicly reachable — if calls connect but nothing happens, check that the backend endpoint in the health output is a real, reachable URL rather than a local address. This path runs μ-law at 8 kHz, so if the voice sounds robotic or slow, the provider's output is probably not being resampled and encoded before playback. Turn-taking depends on detecting when the agent has finished speaking, so continuous audio stalls it.
The full walkthrough, including the self-hosted path, lives in the Vobiz docs.
Read the integration guideYes. Vobiz appears in Dograh's telephony provider list. Open Telephony, choose Configure Telephony, select Vobiz, and enter your Auth ID and Auth Token. Nothing needs to be built on either side beyond that.
Both. The provider is the same and the setup screen is the same. Self-hosting adds the work of running the stack and making it reachable from the internet; the managed cloud handles that for you. The Vobiz integration guide walks through the self-hosted path in full.
If you self-host or deploy into your own VPC, your agent's prompts, transcripts, recordings and model inference stay where you put them, including air-gapped environments. On the managed cloud, Dograh runs the stack and that data sits with them. Either way the call itself travels over a carrier network, as every phone call does, and Vobiz writes a call detail record covering how it was carried. Recording at the Vobiz layer is optional and off unless you turn it on.
Because Vobiz calls back into it. It fetches the stream instruction when the call is answered, posts ring and hangup callbacks, and opens the audio WebSocket. For local development Dograh starts a Cloudflare quick tunnel automatically; production wants a real domain over HTTPS so that endpoint is stable and low latency.
Yes. Attach a workflow to one of your Vobiz numbers in Dograh, and Dograh updates that number's Vobiz application so incoming calls route to the agent. It is configured from the Dograh side rather than in the Vobiz Console.
You can provision numbers in 130+ countries and place outbound calls to 190. Where a market has its own number formats or registration rules, Vobiz issues under them rather than routing around them — India's 140-series and 1600-series numbers, for example, alongside local, mobile and toll-free inventory elsewhere.
No. Dograh places calls through the Vobiz REST API, Vobiz returns a stream instruction, and audio runs over a WebSocket. That is a different path from the SIP trunk integrations used by some other platforms, and it is why there are no trunk credentials or gateway IPs to configure.
Create a Vobiz account and add a number. Then sign in to Dograh's cloud or bring up your own instance — Vobiz is already in the provider list either way.
Dograh is an open-source platform for building AI voice agents, released under BSD 2-Clause and available self-hosted or as a managed cloud. Dograh and Vobiz are independent companies; Vobiz is available as a built-in telephony provider in Dograh.
Connect 3CX PBX to Vobiz SIP trunking for inbound and outbound calling across 130+ countries - configure a generic SIP trunk in minutes.
Connect an Agora Conversational AI agent to Vobiz SIP trunking - add a Vobiz number to Agora for outbound campaigns and route inbound calls to your agent, including India and 130+ countries.
Bolna ships Vobiz as a built-in telephony provider. Paste two credentials into the Providers screen and your agents place and answer calls on numbers in 130+ countries, reaching 190, with audio streaming rather than a SIP trunk.
