# Team Members - Roles, Access & Member Management

> Give colleagues their own login to your Vobiz account - add team members with Viewer, Editor or Manager roles, change roles, suspend or remove members, reset passwords, and read the team activity log in the Vobiz Console.

**Team Members** are the people who sign in to your Vobiz account with their own email and password. Each member gets a role that decides what they can do, and you can suspend or remove them at any time without touching the account itself. Use team members when colleagues need to work in the same account; use [sub-accounts](/docs/platform/subaccounts) when you need a separate account with its own credentials and numbers.

Open **Team Members** from your profile menu, or go to the URL directly.

```text URL theme={null}
```

## The member list

The list shows every member with their **name**, **email** and **status**. The tabs above it filter by status:

| Tab | Who it shows |
| - | - |
| **All** | Every member on the account, with a count. |
| **Active** | Members who can sign in right now. |
| **Suspended** | Members whose access is paused. They stay on the account but cannot sign in. |
| **Pending** | Members who are not yet active. |

Use the search box to find a member by name or email.

## Roles

Every member has one role. Pick it when you add the member and change it later from the detail panel.

> **Viewer - read-only access**
>
> Can see everything in the account but cannot change anything.
>
> * View the dashboard, call logs, recordings, numbers, applications, trunks, campaigns, invoices, balance and KYC status
> * Cannot buy or release numbers, edit applications or trunks, run campaigns, add funds or change settings
> * Cannot see the account Auth Token
> * Can see the team list but cannot invite or manage members
> * Changes their own password through **Forgot password** on the sign-in page

> **Editor - builds and runs things, no team management**
>
> * Buy, release and assign numbers
> * Create and edit applications, webhook URLs, trunks, IP access control lists, credentials and campaigns
> * Add funds and generate invoices
> * Create and edit sub-accounts and regenerate their credentials
> * Cannot see or rotate the Auth Token, submit KYC, manage auto-recharge or channel subscriptions, or edit company and GST details
> * Cannot manage team members

> **Manager - everything an Editor can do, plus the team**
>
> * Can see the Auth Token, but cannot rotate it
> * View and turn off auto-recharge; buy or cancel channel subscriptions
> * Invite members as Viewer, Editor or Manager
> * Change roles, suspend, reactivate, remove and reset passwords, but only for Viewers and Editors
> * Cannot manage other Managers or the Owner, transfer ownership, complete KYC, edit company or GST details, or delete the account

> **Owner - the account holder**
>
> The Owner can do everything and can never be removed. There is one Owner per account.
>
> The Owner can hand ownership to a Manager. The transfer is confirmed with an OTP and takes effect after a 24-hour cooling-off period, and it is recorded in the team activity log.

## Add a team member

Click **+ Invite Member** in the top right. The **Add Team Member** dialog creates a new login for a colleague.

![Add Team Member dialog with Email Address, Full Name, a Role picker showing Viewer, Editor and Manager cards, a Password field, and a Create Member button](https://mintcdn.com/vobizai/YtM8cq-7urcI0JeQ/images/platform/team/team-add-member_blur.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=YtM8cq-7urcI0JeQ\&q=85\&s=b84389e54740eab059cfb7cbcad507e0)

| Field | Required | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **Email Address** | Yes | The address the member signs in with. It must be unique on the account. |
| **Full Name** | – | The display name shown in the list and the detail panel. |
| **Role** | Yes | **Viewer**, **Editor** or **Manager**. See [Roles](#roles). |
| **Password** | Yes | The member's first password. They use it to sign in and can change it later. |

Click **Create Member**. The member appears in the list immediately, and you share the email and password with them through your own channel. No invitation email is needed.

> [!NOTE]
>
> A team member signs in at [console.vobiz.ai](https://console.vobiz.ai) with the email and password you set here and lands in your account. They do not get a separate Auth ID or Auth Token. API calls still use the account's credentials from the [Dashboard](/docs/platform/dashboard), which only Managers and the Owner can see and only the Owner can rotate.

## The member detail panel

Select a row to open the detail panel.

### Account

| Field | What it is |
| - | - |
| **Email** | The member's sign-in address. |
| **Status** | **Active**, **Suspended** or **Pending**. |
| **Role** | The member's current role. |
| **Member ID** | The member's identifier, prefixed `TA_`. Click the copy icon to copy it. Quote it in support requests about this member. |

### Activity

| Field | What it is |
| - | - |
| **Joined** | When the member was added. |
| **Last Login** | When the member last signed in. A dash means they have not signed in yet, which is a useful check before you remove an unused login. |

### Actions

| Control | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Change role** | Pick a new role from the dropdown. |
| **Suspend** | Pause the member's access. They cannot sign in until you reactivate them, but their record, role and history stay in place. |
| **Set Password** | Give the member a new password, for example when they are locked out. |
| **Remove** | Delete the member's login from the account. |

These actions are available to Managers and the Owner. A Manager can use them on Viewers and Editors only; changes to other Managers are for the Owner, and the Owner cannot be suspended or removed.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Suspend** is reversible. **Remove** is not, so suspend first when you are not sure, and remove once the person has left for good.

### Team activity

The panel ends with the **Team Activity** log: a dated list of team changes such as role changes and owner promotions, with the role that made each change. Use it to answer "who changed this, and when" without leaving the page.

## Team members compared with sub-accounts

| | Team member | Sub-account |
| - | - | - |
| What it is | A person's login to your account | A separate child account under yours |
| Credentials | Email and password | Its own `SA_` Auth ID and Auth Token |
| Numbers and usage | Shared with the account | Its own numbers, CDRs and usage |
| Typical use | Colleagues working in one account | Customers, tenants or isolated environments |
| Where to manage | **Team Members** | [Sub-Accounts](/docs/platform/subaccounts) |

> **[Dashboard](/docs/platform/dashboard)**
>
> Where the account's Auth ID and Auth Token live.

> **[Sub-Accounts](/docs/platform/subaccounts)**
>
> Child accounts with their own credentials and numbers.
